War crimes? Seriously?

I know this is a game, but I feel very uncomfortable with these kind of things.

Guys, I think it's pretty clear that this is just a game and our moves does not represent us in RL. None of us is a war crime apologist.

When you wage a war, civilians are bound to get hurt and there always will be more or less justified accusation of war crimes.
Still I would like it to be avoided.
This is a game so I guess people can avoid doing this kind of things.

Good for you. Make sure then your troops remembers how to behave, while other players will be concerned with their troops.
Oh I will Smiley

Man, I hope the RL coup won't give Lumine any ideas.

As I can say is that I strongly recommend that the players read my BBC updates carefully on upcoming turns, xD

Please just remember I'm not Erdogan Tongue

I'm sorry if the turn is not up yet. I was participating in a small group of students opposed to the strike which got leaked, and the pro-strike students are reacting in a less than ideal way... so that mess has me both depressed and busy. But they will get done, even if they are brief.

Good thing it's nothing more serious Smiley I admit I was getting a bit worried.

Sorry guys, I won't come back to play as Germany. In fact, I don't plan to return to Atlas at all, and I am just here shortly to let you know. I hate to let you down that way, but I'm sorry. Have fun, and thank you for the fun you all gave me.
Ooooooh Sad

I'm sorry for hearing that, take care of yourself, hopefully nothing bad will happen to you.

Would it work if I switched from Spain to Germany? Germany is a much stronger power in the game, whereas Spain, especially now, is only a secondary one and not nearly as crucial for the larger game as a whole due to the events in the east.
I support Spamage becoming the german player by the way.

Spamage, being an experienced player, would be great as a German player.

LLR could take Spain. That would probably require a regime change, thouhg.
I think it would be better to make Spain non playable btw. This country will be totally useless after the end of the war. Let's not increasing the number of players with 2nd tiers countries.

If Spamage decides to switch to Germany that's completely fine with me. I'll leave Besteiro on as Spain's General Secretary, but in all likelihood he'll have to pick a different Chancellor for Germany (and either retain the current government coalition or form another). If he wishes not to, Germany goes to LLR. Once we have a player and a tentative Chancellor I'll work out the quick solution.

The different Spains are to be left unplayable for the moment if Spamage moves, at least until the situation clears. The current available nations are Admiral Kolchak's Siberia, Communist or Imperial China and either the Kingdom of Serbia or the Kingdom of Greece for the Athens Pact.
With all due respect Lumine,
Is it really wise to increase the number of playable players???

Probably not, looking into it. We'll have a later update on how the US Election will play out, and hopefully... the revelation of who the new German Chancellor is.

I'll go with bold prediction: a nonpartisan economic genius Hjalmar Schacht becomes Chancellor to focus on all economic stuff, while someone else is taking a political lead.
Personally, I'm expecting Von Papen lol

Call me crazy, but a revival looks plausible now (keeping current developments), although I would certainly need to dramatically change the gameplay and cut on several things. Any suggestions?
Well,
-Spain has lost the war, make this state unplayable.
-Romania is useless
-Make China unplayable too, too minor superpower
-Reduce the number of Russian states (it was honestly really not realistic)

Unfortunately, we seem to have problem with too many playable countries. Then again, we've had problems with too many unplayable countries in the brief second BoP.

I think it would be more practical to do what we've done in the first BoP: giving more control over satelitre/alied states to playable countries (which, of course, can be revoked/modified by the mod at any moment).

-Romania is useless
-Make China unplayable too, too minor superpower

Sure, eliminating my allies must be convenient.
I know it is difficult for you to understand that but not all my actions are directed against you. In fact, they would still be your allies, but unplayable by a person, like Hungary.

In any case, I'm sold with player's interest and Dereich's post, when you put it like that then indeed we have a lot to cover still. I understand Leonardo's concerns as well, but I think that with the way things are going for the US the backstory allows for a lot more of improvisation on behalf of the USA player.

So if we confirm Italy, USA and hopefully UK, we're back in business and I'll do a write up of the end of 1928 with some events to advance the storyline, and we could return for Early 1929. If you want any changes done to the game or the backstory, now's the time to speak.

I like the idea of a broken Russia, but, wouldn't it be possible to slightly reduce the number of Russian states? I will be honest, I don't think it is historically plausible that there are too many Russian states.

Regarding China, maybe forgetting all NeverAgain has done regarding domestic policy? He has obviously totally screwed up and there is a civil war blablabla, but no way to erase this part? Just for the record, I believe that the trade agreements made between China, the Ottoman and the USA should still be in effect, but I think we should forget the "civil war stuff" in China.

Since it's been three days already, I'm setting up eight hours or so to wait for a response from Garlan. I assume this would meant Kingpoleon taking over the UK, but how should we proceed? Churchill suffering an accident and an "Acting Prime Minister" taking over temporarily?
Why not letting Churchill in power?
