Who? Someone intelligent, I'm sure. Jon Huntsman?

He obviously would need someone intelligent, so Huntsman is a reasonable choice... but he's Obama ambassador

Gingrch/Jindal or Thune would be odd. Picking people who believe in creationism is weird. I can see Gingrich/Jindal, though.

And I think that either Gingrich or Romney will be the republican nominee; and possibly the next Pres.

it'd be interesting if he chose another U.S. Rep like Cantor, but he may need to WASP things up better than what Cantor could offer, being a Catholic with a funny sounding name and all

but Gingrich won't run

He'll pick an intelligent person we've never heard of (I would hope).

smart...possibly young, but full of ideas. They could be the "ideas ticket"

Like Cantor, maybe Huckabee (but we'd need something more then southern white guys). Possibly Romney (some reason I don't see them liking eachother much), maybe Pawlenty (unlikely)

Interesting...however Owens is divorced now and Republicans would look bad not having a "family" candidate. There's also something in Owen's closet, he is backing out of politics completely, or he's really just done. But asking to become number two is tempting no?

Ah, didn't know about Owens, and Gingrich isn't exactly a "family man"

There would already be one heterosexual, serial adulterer on the ticket.  Newt might want to try and bring back the Log Cabin Republicans and ask former Congressmen Steve Gunderson, Mark Foley or Jim Bunn to sign up.

Of course, if he wanted a Senator or Governor for added balance, his choice of gay Republicans would be seriously limited.

If he's anything like the Gingrich on President Forever, he'll probably campaign against himself in the primary, then pick Gingrich as his VP.

Larry Craig and Charlie Crist are just about the only options for that particular description. Tongue

Pawlenty wouldn't be a terrible choice, although they will likely compete with Dole/Kemp or Gore/Lieberman as the most personally boring ticket in the modern era.  And two Catholics?

EDIT: I forgot Pawlenty converted

Hey, he might want to enhance his message like Clinton did in 1992 with Al Gore.

Her GW connections aside, what about Condi Rice?

Her intelligence would rival his.

A Newt/Condi ticket would make history.

A brilliant white man and a brilliant black woman, together at last.

Think of the possibilities for the nation and for the world.

I like it, but the Republicans need at least a little family values in there. I'm not saying Condi is not family oriented, but wouldn't it be nice to see the VEEP on stage with someone else at the convention? Especially when we're talking REPUBLICAN?

As for Newty, we can't forget but we can forgive.
