Out of the main two, i'd go for Farage, but realistically i'd probably go for one of the (many) independants.

Bercow of the above, but I'd probably vote Monster Raving Loony.

Could someone explain why the tradition of not running against the speaker even exists?

The Speaker is nonpartisan, and so there is no reason for the major parties to put up a candidate against him.

Historically, however, Labour ran candidates against Speakers who came from the Conservatives. Bernard Weatherill was opposed by Labour and the Alliance in 1987, and Selwyn Lloyd was opposed by Labour and the Liberals in February and October 1974.

Not Farage at any rate, I genuinely hate him.
