I was looking through some old precinct results and noticed that Kerry won all the precincts in my town (his best was 80%, his worst was 52%). Is anyone else in this situation? If not, who won a majority of your city/town's precincts in 2004?

There are plenty of cities where Kerry won every precinct.

You need a subscription.  I can look them up for you if you like, though.

Also, some local newspapers had precinct results available online right after the election. It may still be in their archives.

Maybe we can get 30 people to contribute 50 cents a piece and buy him one. Smiley

Could you look it up for me? Also if you can get a map of it I would like that.

If you tell me your town, I can.  But I seriously doubt I'll be able to easily find an updated map of the precinct boundaries.  If you request one from the county GIS office for your town, I will, but it probably won't be all that interesting.

Many localities (counties, cities) post precinct results up online; some states do so for the whole state (would be that all states did.)

My county does that; from its site I found that Kerry carried every precinct in my city (Gaithersburg, MD) by wide margins, as was the case throughout most of the county.

Black neighborhoods are overwhelmingly Kerry. White neighborhoods are mostly Bush. Memphis politics is easy like that.

My precinct went to Kerry by a 358-268 margin with 4 votes for Badnarik and 2 votes for Peroutka. That's a 57/42 margin for Kerry.

As for the city, it's pretty large with a lot of precincts, but I think Kerry won it too.

Kerry won 74-25 city-wide. By precinct:

Ward 1
Precinct 1: 52-47 Kerry
Precinct 2: 61-37 Kerry

Ward 2
Precinct 1: 50-50 Bush (by one vote)
Precinct 2: 56-44 Kerry
Precinct 3: 64-35 Kerry

Ward 3
Precinct 1: 74-26 Kerry (my precinct)
Precinct 2: 71-29 Kerry
Precinct 3: 84-15 Kerry
Precinct 4: 69-31 Kerry

Ward 4
Precinct 1: 100-0 Kerry
Precinct 2: 89-11 Kerry

4-1 surprised me a bit. 612 voters and they all voted for John Kerry. Not even any Nader votes. Ward 4 is heavily black, but even that doesn't fully explain it.

Wards 1 and 2 are very wealthy with high Orthodox Jewish populations. Ward 3 is an extremely diverse middle class area, and Ward 4 is mostly black and poor.

Every precinct in my (rural) county was carried by Bush. All four precincts in my town obviously followed suit.

Kerry lost only one precinct in Mankato, mostly a bunch of newly built subdivisions. He lost a bunch in North Mankato though, which makes sense since N Mankato has a lot more sprawl, and Bush got over 64% in one, which is dominated by a wealthy gated community.
