When I resigned from the Senate two months ago, I did so because my real life was limiting my activity in Atlasia- monetary issues forced me to leave college and return to Georgia; the transition was a rocky one and at the time I had bigger things to focus on. However, now my life has settled down a fair bit and I'd like to, in a sense, redeem myself.

I'm seriously considering running as a candidate this month, either to return to the Senate, or to try for some regional office in the IDS. I've created this thread to gauge what level of support exists for my potential candidacy before actually committing myself to a run.

So, to ask everyone, especially fellow residents of the Southeast: would you consider voting for me? If not, is my past inactivity a concern that would prevent you from doing so?

Much thanks; any and all input is appreciated. If there's interest I'll post a rudimentary platform sometime soon.

I'm sorry to hear about the monetary issues... I can speak to that... every semester was a struggle to get tuition paid for me.

I will support you in whatever office you seek (provided I can, that is)

I would support you for a bid at the regional level.  Is the upcoming senate election a regional one?  If so, you would probably be better off running for a seat in the IDS legislature.  I honestly don't think you would have a shot in such an RPP region as the south.

Good luck with whatever you do.

Upcoming Senate election is at-large. Not to mention NC Yankee would be difficult to beat given his long & distinguished service as a Senator of the region.

Right.  Though being in an RPP dominated region doesn't hurt.

Indeed. MasterJedi did a great job as a Senator back in 2009, yet he struggled in both of his elections due to being in the then center-left Midwest.

Thanks for the support, everyone!

Note that I have no desire at all to run against NCYankee. Tongue

For the most part, I am currently deciding between running for an At-Large Senate seat and running for Viceroy. I'd love to be in the Senate again but I'm hesitant to put myself on the ballot because I don't want to run against too many other candidates I like (especially if all of Oakvale, Snowguy, Antonio, Ernest, and Texasgurl run!). I also have many ideas I'd like to implement on the regional level but I'm doubting if I could beat an RPP incumbent Tongue

I suppose, if neither of the above work, I could attempt to do something with the regional Attorney General's office- it's really been ignored ever since it was created.

Well, the AG could become the maintainer of the budget.  If you want to some idea implementation I suggest you run for the legislature rather than Viceroy.  Though the Viceroy can offer input, he cannot sponsor bills and does not vote.

Of course, if you have a bill you want sponsored you could always PM me with it.

Thats terrible. Sad Are you going to continue to pursue your education through other institutions or at a later time when things are better?

I definately would be willing to vote for you, but I wouldn't be able to pledge a first untill I knew what race it was and who the opponents were.

I made a failed run for AG last February, I think. I urge you to run for it, the IDS needs it!

Not so much failed as abortive. The issue is, there isn't any real reason to take on the role of AG.
