if you want real info on Tito's Yugoslavia rather than just reciting an orthodox M-L line I have some articles from the New Left Review archives I could pass along.
I'm not really what anyone would call an orthodox M-L, though I tend to favor their line over the pro-Eastern Bloc line.
And although I've heard a lot of good about Tito's social policy and whatnot, I'm pretty confident that Yugoslavia couldn't really have been considered socialist. To give a few related quotes...
The Marshall Plan, which had a provision requiring the expulsion of all communists from the parliaments of all participating nations.
First thing is pretty damning, he more or less is defining socialism as state interventionist capitalism, and if we look at Yugoslavia, that's just what we see.
Anyway, I quite like Enver Hoxha's work on the subject. (Yugoslav "Self-Administration", which I can't link to due to post count) I'm interested in seeing pro-Titoist articles, I haven't heard much from that viewpoint.
