I have put together a special GriffGraph which outlines the rise and fall of all major parties' membership over the past year (technically, it's closer to 14 months). I have done my best to include major party moments at the top (feel free to recommend additions; I don't have time to go through every post over the past year) as well as "eras" which correspond to who was leading each party at the time.

Also, population by region over the same period - Full-sized image:

Wow, this just made me realize how completely I have lost touch with Atlasia in the past year.

So we are marching toward a three-party system? And the main right-wing party is called Federalist?

Also, good to see the Labor Party is now the strongest political force. Smiley

Just for you, I've added a second graphic detailing population by region over the same time period.

It appears so, although we were a three-party system just a few months ago; the Whigs imploded and left a bit of a vacuum until recently.

What happened to the Whigs exactly?

My memory is a little vague now, but there was clarence's loss in the Presidential election, followed by Simfan's vacancy and subsequent removal as Chair. I believe then they got wiped out in August's at-large elections, and people began leaving the party. I can't remember all the details, but I do remember it was very much a "one thing right after another" series of events.

I made quite the detailed post about our little implosion a couple months ago. Mostly, it was just a series of unfortunate things that all happened around the same time.

It started after the at-large elections though. We were actually feeling pretty good about ourselves with those elections, because both clarence and I managed to win seats. Simfan was away for that election though, so in his absence we decided to elect a new chair. He returned and was understandably disappointed, but we were not prepared to sack the new executive just to reinstate him. Shortly thereafter he left the party. In the meantime, The People's Party rose up and sucked away some of our membership. Clarence soon left the game and Supersonic, the vice chair, ascended to the chairmanship. The tumultuous senate session saw many senators leave, so when the time came for a special election, we floated around the idea of holding a primary. Unfortunately, Supersonic's instructions for that primary vote were widely misunderstood, so we had a bunch of people casting ballots for what they thought was the vacant vice chair position. When we tried to clear it up, Supersonic went AWOL and we had no vice chair to deal with the mess. So I decided to usurp whatever authority I could to fix the situation, and we got 20RP12 elected to the vice chair position. Unfortunately, this mess was a huge embarrassment that saw a number of others leave the party. 20RP12 eventually left too, so we were pretty damn screwed.

Well, the chart numbers are nominal, not a percentage. Tongue

Good work, Griffin. Sorry about my three-week vacation in the summer. Tongue

Wait. I've been RG for that long? A curse would be stylishly appropriate here, too bad it'd be a TOS violation.

Pretty nice graphics! It seems that Atlasia has a party system similar to Canada or the UK, without the disadvantages of the Westminster system (FPTP). I'd like to be in the Jesus Christ Party, btw, only for the name.
