I hereby open the confirmation hearing for John Dibble as Associate Justice.

We'll have a day or so of questioning, followed by a vote.

Nothing personal against you Dibble, but I urge Senators to block this nomination.

Mind if I hear the reasons? Is it because of my political beliefs, or is it something else? I won't take offense to your reasons, I'm open to constructive criticism.

My main concern is your activeness. I looked at your profile and it says you post on average, 11 posts a day. That's alot, however, most of those posts are not in fantasy elections. We need someone who is active in fantasy elections and government. Like I said before, its nothing personal.

At least from what I've seen, Dibble's one of the more active persons in fantasy government threads (not the elections threads, if at all).  Sometimes he's more active than some senators on government threads.   That's one of the reasons why I think he'd be a very fair, impartial justice.  He doesn't get involved in any of the partisan racor on the elections threads.

He's posted opinions and comments on the Protection of Children Act, The Unwed and Teenage Mothers Protection Bill, The Atlasia National Tax Act, The Fair Wage and Community Revitalization Act, The Cuba Relations Act, the Urban Regeneration Bill etc, bills now all before Congress.

Quite right. I check out both fantasy government boards on a regular basis, however I only post when there's something I think I have to say. I just don't usually have much to say on the election boards.

I think that Dibble would be very fair and non partisan on matters of election disputes and the like. However, I am somewhat concerned that he would be very anti-government intervention on the economy and would strike down many badly needed pieces of legislation as unconstitutional.

Hopefully the new Constitutional Convention will not allow for loopholes to be abused, but at this time I am on the fence about this nomination.

I assure you I will be impartial. If given the the post, I will put my personal feelings about bills aside, and do my job - simply interpret the constitutionality of laws/bills that are brought to the Supreme Court, and do so in a rational manner. I will make it a point to explain my decisions as well - I will always ensure I can justify them to myself before I make them. Also, I am very willing to listen to arguments I disagree with - it is not impossible to change my mind.

By that logic, I would be qualified to be on the court.  And I know no one wants that.

I hereby declare voting to be open.

All senators in favor of John Dibble as associate justice, vote "yea"; all senators opposed, vote "nay".

Also, please vote on Colin Wixted's confirmation if you haven't already done so.

Well, that's six, a majority. I'm a Justice of the Supreme Court now. Now my evil libertarian plans can be realized, BWAHAHAHA! Smiley  Just kidding of course, I'll serve with honor.
