Yeah, it only appears that Mississippi, South Carolina, and maybe Kentucky are the only serious primary challenges. There should be no competition in the general as well.

I'm waiting for another poll to come up. I'm not trusting an Alexander internal, especially when a reliable source has Carr much, much closer.

Which one? Every poll I've seen shows Carr behind by no less than 30 points.

I hope Alexander will survive, he will probably have my vote. But honestly, democrats are running a "no nazi" candidate, so if he's defeated in the primaries, maybe it wouldn't be safe rep but more likely rep.

PPP had him down by single digits.

The only way Democrats win this seat is if Tea Party-backed Joe Carr takes out Lamar Alexander and Judge Joe Brown decides to run, both of which seem unlikely since Brown is now leaning towards running for Shelby County District Attorney. But out of the 3 no-name candidates, I'll take Larry Crim over Terry Adams any day for someone who cares about equal opportunities for public education and quality health care over someone who's only about veterans' benefits.

With that said, I hope this poll is at least somewhat accurate to sway off the Alexander +6 poll because we don't need Carr in the Senate. He's responsible for the awful, awful bill that would criminalize federal gun laws and keep them from being implemented in TN. Now Alexander isn't much better when it comes to that considering he thinks video games are more hazardous than guns, but at least supports funding for scientific research, so take it or leave it, I guess.  I'll take Alexander over Carr, but Stockman I'll take over Cornyn because Stockman is at least funny and Cornyn is a lot worse compared to Alexander. We can always try to rally Bredesen, Joe Brown, Cohen, Cooper, Ford or someone else who could make one of the Tennessee Senate seats competitive if Corker steps down in 2018 or Alexander steps down in 2020.

Alexander is insanely popular. In 2008 he won 94 of the 95 counties, including Shelby (Memphis) and Davidson (Nashville) both of which are very blue so I don't see them having much luck with getting him out. If he does leave in 2020 I could see current governor Haslam being the favorite to take his place.

That being said I think if the Tea Party is still around come 2018 they will make a charge at Corker. It is fairly obvious he is against the Tea Party and especially Ted Cruz.
