So, the amendment has been adopted, yes?

2.2: I like it, but I am concerned it is an invitation for trolling with faux lawsuits delaying results.

I will not object though, as it is the best iteration of this bill so far.
Good point. Perhaps we could add a subsection (d) along the lines of "or (d) the Secretary shall demonstrate the compliance of the Contested aspect of the Preliminary Count with all applicable Laws and Regulations" ?

How complex would the process of compliance in such fashion beat? Would it turn the process into effect the equivalent of a Surpeme Court ruling in terms of the time and effort required and thereby make it more difficult to find people willing to administer elections?

This bill is still on the table. I will now extend debate for an additional 48 hours. If there is no objection following that, we will then move on to a 24-hour vote on the final bill, with Senator Truman's amendment.

Fair point. Perhaps we should just scrap 2.2 completely and require a Preliminary Count after 24 hours and a Final Count after 72?

In any case, I believe this bill should have been tabled, as no Senator assumed sponsorship after Dkrol resigned.

The concern that led to this bill was more to do with haphazard work on the part of the SoFE resulting from certifying the results to quickly and not taking care. Setting a maximum time to certify is rather pointless.

We will now move to a 24-hour vote on whether to table this bill or not.

This bill has been tabled with five votes in favor and none against, with Senators PiT, NC Yankee, darthebearnc, Dereich, and Cris not voting. Senator Cris, would you please change the name of this thread to reflect this?
