Maybe Freudenthal's wife can run.

I don't know about a big difference, but it'll probably mean the race isn't a complete snoozer.

The state is just too Republican.

Doubt it'll make much a difference. IIRC, Fmr. Sen. Tim Johnson (D-SD) campaigned for Jay Williams in last year's senate race, and it didn't do any good.

Former Minority leader Mary Throne is in. At least a nobody isn't running. If Wyoming continues its pattern of not electing back-to-back governors of the same party, this would be the year for a Democrat to win.

Nancy D. Freudenthal or Gregory A. Phillips would be strong recruits, as would Chris Boswell.

Did Zell Miller campaigning for Michelle Nunn help? Same answer.

Better than nothing.

Maybe Freudenthal's wife can run.

No one else seems like a contender, TBH. And she is rather qualified.

I was going to say, Christopher Croft, who Obama appointed to be Wyoming's US Atty, could follow in Freudenthal's footsteps, as the state has a penitent for electing former US Attys to the Governor's Mansion, but Croft's 75, so guess that's not happening.

It was also 2014 when that happened.

Since the coal extraction counties have gone from voting moderately Republican to Kane County UT margins, I don't think even Frudenthal himself could win if he ran again.

Endorsed! Not getting my hopes up, but with Trump's approval ratings, the lack of any serious Republican candidates yet, and the credibility of this candidate, maybe there's like a 10% chance we can see a repeat of 2002 here?

I endorse her too. Interesting fact Wyoming has not elected a governor of the same party as the president since the late 1970s.

Once upon a time, almost all of the Great Plains and Mountain West states had Democratic Governors, even while being as Republican, Presidentially, as they are now.
