Assume that Hughes term saw the Great War go as it did IOTL, however Hughes does not pursue some utopian vision of post-war Europe, instead seeing a more practical peace treaty through rather than Versailles, without the creation of a League of Nations or anything of that sort.

Discuss with maps.

With Hughes being an advocate for Germany and keeping the Kaiser, he massively wins over German-Americans, at the expense of the Lowden and Roosevelt hawks. However, it appeases most moderate conservatives, progressives, and moderates in the party. Hughes signs an alliance with Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and Tsarist Russia, as Germany's Kaiser ordered an intervention, with the agreement of the Romanians, British, and French.

325: President Charles Evan Hughes/Governor Charles Joseph Bonaparte - 50.5%
206: House Minority Leader Champ Clark/Governor Charles W. Bryan - 46.8%
