Will Roy Moore winning accelerate the Democratic trend in VA, TX, CA, NC, CO, AZ, GA, and NV? I think it will.

I definitely think electing a pedofile Who looks like Howdy doody will only add to the growing outrage that will push people into politics. So yes

No, I seriously doubt very many people in those states will care that much about the specific profile of another states senator; besides most of the GOP Senate caucus has distanced themselves from Moore.

At best, some candidates may be able to use him semi-effectively in some attack ads, but only where people actually know who he is and what he has been accused of. If he does indeed win, and is seated and sticks around for a while, then his usage in attack ads will probably go up.

But that's it. He's not such an influential figure that he'll drive trends in various states. That is generally only something a president can do.

I think in the age of social.media with a bunch of politically active people constantly following everything...stuff like Roy Moore getting elected only adds to this collective feeling amongst the grass roots that America is really going down the sh**ttér lately. Everyday it's something new, there's so much corruption and stupidity that you can't avoid it...your kinda thrust into having to play a role in politics rather than being a bystander.

You don't think he might drive trends in California or Virginia, where the GOP is scaring away potential voters?

At best, Moore helps the democrats for a cycle or two, but trends are long term and campaigning with a vague guilt by association simply by pointing out that he is republican won't do that much anyway, especially since Moore has gone out of his way to distance his own brand from that of national republicans.

I just think his impact and notoriety is being vastly overestimated here. The only singular politician that seems to be able to strongly drive trends is the president, which you can practically see through election results in districts won or lost by POTUS.

Moore will say and do controversial things in a way that will cause other Republican senators to be asked about them in embarrassing ways. I can just imagine reporters following senators around asking things like "SENATOR HELLER SENATOR HELLER, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF SENATOR MOORE'S RECENT STATEMENT THAT HOMOSEXUALS SHOULD BE THROWN OFF OF BUILDINGS?" This will serve to turn off youngs and independents from the GOP even more.

Roy Moore should have stepped aside.  These allegations are too big for him to be dealing with politics, even if he was innocent.  Also, in politics the opposite of court opinion exists.  You are guilty until proven innocent and the same should apply to Moore.  This is looking very bad for our party.
