She should of apologized and moved on. She was already politically damaged before her 2016 run.

It's more Obama's fault than Hillary's. He was the President, he was supposed to be in charge of his party, after he bankrupted the DNC, he let DWS & Hillary take it over. He knowingly let Hillary maintain a private email server, and he knowingly hired republican Comey over democrat Lisa Monaco to be FBI director.

Obama was supposed to be an authority figure with executive responsibility, but he never acted the part.

LOL. As if Hillary apologizing would have tamped down the hysteria from the right.

he knowingly hired republican Comey over democrat Lisa Monaco to be FBI director.
This part!

First, this is true:

But more importantly, the GOP would've figured out how to make a "scandal" out of a sneeze in the wrong direction. They wasted billions on Benghazi for instance.

Should've gone full on St. Ronnie and just said, "There you go again", why don't more Democrats effectively use this line of reasoning anyway?

Instead, she copied Bill's mistakes with Lewinsky.

Uh, she did. The media wouldn't let it go no matter what she did or said.

she apologized and said it was a mistake, over and over again. her story was basically unchanged the entire time too: "sorry, my mistake. no emails were marked classified at the time i sent or received them, and i didnt endanger national security nor was my account compromised."

i forget now why people were upset with her about this. that she might have possibly endangered natl sec by using a private email server instead of govt email? i mean, that's the equivalent of saying you'd be endangering business secrets by using ur personal email for office work.
maybe it was that she slightly changed her story, from "no classified material" to "nothing marked classified/i didnt know it was classified"

As a party/machine leader Obama was beyond pathetic.

What Hillary could not, and would not, avoid, is the appearance of impropriety.  She has always chosen secrecy over openness, and this has always caused folks to believe she has something to hide.

The e-mail scandal was something that should never have grown to what it did.  It did because she lied about it.
