American and coalition forces disarming Iran, freeing its people, and defending the world from grave danger. I think FF because theocracy belongs on the ash heap of history, along with its buddies fascism and communism.

I'm arguably the biggest critic of the Iranian regime on this forum. I staunchly opposed the Iran deal and take great joy in Pres. Trump's successful policy moves in opposing Iran.

And I still voted HP idea on this poll.

I'm not a big fan of the Iranian government, but Operation Iraqi Freedom showed how hard it is to overthrow an authoritarian government and install a democracy. Trying to do the same thing on a country twice as populous as Iraq wouldn't work out very well, and it would also radicalize large portions of Iranian society. Even though Iran has done some pretty bad stuff, I'd rather work with the moderate president currently in power.

HP idea. Sanctions and the like work good enough, and I think the Iran deal was a good idea. Honestly at this point trying to subvert Iran from the inside (ie supporting democratic protesters against the Supreme Leader) would work better than an open invasion.

HP. They have absolutely no reason to interfere in Iranian affairs and American interference is why Iran is a theocracy right now.

We should be wrapping up ISIS and play the long game, avoid more resentment and blowback until the day in the far future were a "open borders" policy might actually work and not just create civil disorder/wars.

Because things turned out so well the last time we overthrew the Iranian government.

Nearly four times the area of Iraq, with twice the population, and a myriad of ethnic minorities. Incredibly mountainous terrain like Afghanistan, a modern economy and military far exceeding that of Iraq in 2003, and a regime whose support rests on both religious fundamentalism and anti-Americanism.

An invasion and occupation could very well bleed the United States towards collapse. And it would further destabilize the region beyond repair, all at the expense of millions of lives.

No, and I'm glad that most Republicans no longer want to do stuff like that.

Horrible, I'm also glad that even the Republicans have largely moved out of this era, you are about to be as bygone of a relic as the candidates I like Hillgoose Tongue.

The world is not in "grave danger" from Iran.

If you don't like theocracy, will we be "liberating" Saudi Arabia too?
