President Barack Obama runs for a second term. He wins renomination easily. Unemployment in October 2012 is 9.0%. Herman Cain wins the GOP nomination, being the first African American Republican presidential nominee. Who wins this historic election?

I can give three scenarios:
1. The sex scandal never existed...

Close, but no cigar.

2. The scandal occurs, and Cain drops out of the race...

Obama/Biden 399
Some poor sacrificial republicans 139

3. The scandal occurs, and Cain does not drop out of the race... (either due to it occuring days before election or selfishness)

Because I wanted to make a red map...
Obama/Biden 502
Herman Cain/A Republican who endorsed the Libs 13
Johnson/Gray 23 They received support from the GOP establishment much like what happened in Colorado that one year. (forgot the date)

With the sex scandal, and the fact that he is obviously an idiot, Obama by a landslide.

President Obama(D-IL)/Vice-President Joe Biden(D-DE): 405 EV.(54%)
Herman Cain(R-GA)/Senator Rick Santourum(R-PA): 133 EV.(43%)

While the race is close throughout the summer, largely due to Cain's sheer personality, ultimately the sex scandal, plus Cain's poor campaign skills sink him.

Barack Obama/Joe Biden 55%
Herman Cain/Marco Rubio 44%
