what are the essential things to have at a rager?

like, in ur opinion.

for me it's good music and alcohol, but i have some friends who legit only want to show up if there's free food, and then some friends who won't go to a party without loud (as well as some who won't show up if there is loud, bible belt and all lmao) so like what do you guys look for in a rager?

Music, lights, and booze should be the bare essentials, no? (Fraternity veteran) I suppose from a gendered perspective guys would also want chicks to show up and vice versa. And of course the party needs a certain level of attendance and to go ‘til 2 AM at least.

Depends on what your idea of a rager is. I prefer to party solo with a nice introspective mushroom trip, so have nature, lots of water, maybe a few sodas, something to play trippy music on (I recommend The Doors, The Dead, and circa 1976ish Dylan), and lots of weed and cigarettes.

I don't do harder drugs beyond weed/psychedelics, and my last "MDMA" experience was enough to scare me off from that drug for good.

I can barely drink anymore TBH. I drank myself so sick back in Tally that it basically ruined alcohol forever for me. Considering my dad's been sober for nearly 40 years and my mom for about five,plus my brother's numerous addictions, I think I'm making the right choice. I'll have a gin and tonic when a go out (literally meaning a gin and tonic - it takes me like a half hour to finish it) and I'll get drunk at the twice a year bluegrass festivals I go to. That's about it.
