Tlaib and Omar have actually decried the coup against Maduro as an attempt at a “far-right military dictatorship.” In spite of this, Christian Democrats, conservatives, centrists, liberals, and social democrats in Venezuela have all backed the National Assembly Guaido government.

Donald Trump (R)
Al Gore (D)
Mitt Romney (R)
Barack Obama (D)
Joe Biden (D)
Bill Clinton (D)
George W. Bush (R)
Roy Moore (R)

You might have gotten away with your trolling as a dirtbag centrist if you hadn't snuck Roy Moore in there.

Anyway, my favorites? FDR, Truman, LBJ, and Clinton (both of them). I like JFK and Obama too, but they were ultimately better as inspirational speakers than effective politicians. And Jimmy Carter was a real nice guy, possibly my favorite human being to ever be a politician, but AS a politician? Not so much.

Expanding the list beyond presidents (aside from Hillary)? Well it's an eclectic list. Al Gore, RFK, Henry Clay, Harry Reid, Mario Cuomo, Alexander Hamilton, Tip O'Neill, Hubert Humphrey, Nancy Pelosi, Wendell Ford, Alben Barkley, I could go on and on.

I find the mentions of "The Squad" and Bernie to be kind of cringeworthy, to be honest. There have been so many politicians throughout our nation's history who have accomplished so much, and you go with people who have never accomplished anything more impactful than a tweet?

You can always tell the people who get 100% of their political information from The Young Turks and /r/politics, because the politicians they like are entirely Bernie and Friends Of Bernie, or super-trendy politician of the week like Stacey Abrams.

At least Lourdes had the dignity to include Kshama Sawant.  By the way Lourdes did you know that 100% of Sawant's votes are decided by the Socialist Alternative board of directors in Brooklyn?  They also pre-write 100% of her speeches and manage all the hiring/firing decisions in her office.  She's literally the textbook definition of a puppet, controlled by people who have never been to Seattle.  Just found that interesting (as a constituent of hers).

Yup.

Also, I find it hilarious that Elizabeth Warren literally did more legislatively to impact people's lives than Bernie ever did over his decades in Congress BEFORE she even was elected, as an architect of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. That alone is more significant than all the post offices Bernie has ever renamed.

Every time you ask a Bernie disciple to explain exactly WHAT he has done to merit their devotion or WHY I should trust him to be a successful leader politically, you get a long-winded rambling non-response about how you just don't understand the revolution, man, or something.

Nobody can ever actually answer the question and explain just what it is Bernie has done aside from rant like Howard Beale about how he's mad as hell and is not gonna take it anymore.

I genuinely fail to see how he is anything more than the Ron Paul of the left. The parallels are almost perfect. Right down to the conspiratorial skepticism of the Fed.

Well, you see, he's just so admirably consistent.

Quote from: Washington Post
“Bernie Sanders is a more honorable choice for Vermont sportsmen than Peter Smith,” wrote Wayne LaPierre, who was — and still is — a top official at the national NRA, backing Sanders over the Republican incumbent.

As a candidate in 1990, Sanders won over gun rights groups by promising to oppose one bill they hated — a measure that would establish a waiting period for handgun sales. In Congress, he kept that promise. The dynamic served as an early demonstration that, despite his pure-leftist persona, Sanders was at his core a pragmatic politician, calculating that he couldn’t win in rural Vermont without doing something for gun owners.
