This was previously part of the Atlasian-Israel-Jordan Free Trade Bill; however, I moved that all reference to Jordan be stricken from that Bill on the grounds that Jordan, but not Israel, should be subject to the following amendment, which I, hereby, introduce:

3. This Agreement requires a commitment on the part of Jordan to make progress towards becoming a fully functioning liberal democracy, with respect for political freedoms and civil rights. This will be monitored by the Secretary of State in accordance with the terms of the Foreign Policy Review Act. Should he determine that Jordan is regressing on its commitment, and then he shall either (depending on the severity of the regress):

a. Request that the Senate introduce an appropriate tariff either on:

i. Selected Jordanian goods

ii. All Jordanian goods

b. Request that the Senate revoke the Agreement with Jordan in its entirety

At this point in time, as per the Foreign Policy Review, Jordan is subject to partial military and partial economic sanctions with Atlasia. Nevertheless, Atlasia should applaud efforts on the part of the Jordanian government against terrorism

Furthermore, although Jordan seems to be making steady progress re-democratic reforms of its own volition, this is something that needs to be carefully monitored
