Hi questions on using this site.   Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, if not, I apologize, and ask this to be moved to the right forum.

1.   How to multi-quote?

2.   How to make it so after posting in a thread, I stay IN THAT THREAD, instead of being kicked out into the thread list?

One method you could use to multi-quote is to click the quote button on multiple posts on the same page before typing anything.

How can I make it so that, after posting, I stay IN THAT THREAD, instead of getting kicked back into the thread list?

Go into your personal settings page, the account and display preferences section should include such an option. I use it personally, but there's also a checkbox that you can check  every time you make a new post, should you want to locally and temporarily change your setting  for a single given thread or post. Happy blogging!

Thanks, but where is the Checkbox (when I make a new post)?    I must be blind, but I couldn't seem to find it.   Also, do you have a link to that personal settings page?    I went to profile but didn't see the choice that you mentioned?

do you have a link to that personal settings page? I went to my profile, but I couldn't find the choice that you mentioned?

Here you go. It's  in  the "profile" section, underneath the "looks and layout preferences" heading, right  next to  the option  for  a new tab.

Thanks, but  where is the checkbox

Click "additional options" between the text box and the "post" button. The second checkbox  is  the one  I'm referring to.

This box  will be  checked  by default  if  your default setting  is "on", and  likewise  it'll  be  disabled  if you don't have it. Obviously, you're able to change  this setting  at  any  point in time, for  each  individual  thread.

Thank you, found the second one.    But when I followed your above link, I get "
An Error Has Occurred!
You are not permitted to modify profile settings.".

It's  in  the "profile" section, underneath the "looks and layout preferences" heading

when I followed  your link, I received a message  telling me  that "An Error Has Occurred! You are not permitted to modify profile settings"

Then just follow  the steps  I outlined  above, dude.

Anyway, please  try  that link  again—I  newly  updated  it, so I think (and hope) it should work  now ... does it?

Yes, now it does.   Found it, fixed.   Thanks again.  Not sure why that wasn't Checked by default, because I'm not sure why someone would want to leave a thread after posting, by default.  Anyway, we have that fixed.    Now if only I could figure out multi-quote.

You don't know  what I mean  by  "multi-quoting"?

In fact, I don't. Could you  kindly  specify  for me, please?

Dude, if you don't Know what multi quote is why are you even replying to me?   Multi quote is a common feature on virtually every other forum (sports, tennis, news, travel, you name it).   Read about it here dude:  https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/technical-support-feedback/1255839-how-use-multi-quote-function-flyertalk.html

Welcome HAMMERS!

Questions that have baffled Atlasians for decades.

People often ask me:

"Maclenzie, How do you survive on Atlas so long without upsetting people of each political group?"

And I always say....

"That's a great question, one which I am glad you asked."

"Let me start by saying there are three simple rules:"

Rule #1. Don't use the word "Nazi" more than three times a week. 1930's National Socialists don't last long here.

Rule #2. If you see the word "Gender" in any thread, an oxygen mask will fall from the ceiling. Fit the oxygen mask to yourself before attempting to save others. (Just drop the laptop, put the joggers on and run)

Rule #3. Don't enter the cave and kick the Bear unless you want to be chased around the forest (for months, sometimes years).

Enjoy yourself and welcome.
