The last I heard about Senator Lindsay Graham was that he was facing a primary challenge, Is that still on or what?

Well, his likely opponent (Thomas Ravenel) got busted for dealing cocaine. That kinda put the kibosh to Ravenel's candidacy.

He has opponents, but none that are really viable.  For what it is worth, he was warmly received when he talked at a Richland County Republican Party meeting recently.  The one potential major opponent remaining, Lt. Gov. André Bauer, is considered likelier to be challenging Rep. Bob Inglis (SC-4) instead.  Inglis doesn't have Graham's warchest or national connections to raise cash, but has gotten into the same hot water with upstate Republicans.  Here's the clincher, Bauer's planning on moving to Greenville, which is in Inglis' district.

I seem to recall you having some very friendly words about Bauer.

Words, yes.  Friendly, no.  But I can't deny that he knows how to get votes.  That's about the only talent he's displayed as politician so far, but he does have it.

There was something very suspicious about that in my opinion.

Inglis seems to be as moderate Smiley as they can be, for South Carolina Republican member of Congress. I doubt I'd have supported him over Hollings, however
