That is still a good showing for a Republican though.

Ok, maybe, but I can´t imagine it being that close on Election Day. Remember Patrick vs. Healey ? He defeated her by 21%, yet she was pro-choice like Giuliani. Not that the 2006 Governor race has anything to do with the 2008 presidential race, but similarities are there. Giuliani may do couple of points better than Healey though, because he´s pro-gay-rights etc. too, but he´d still lose by about 15-20% in MA.

All I know is that the idea that the election could even be between Clinton and Romney is not cool.

Again - Edwards does best overall.

He's still my #2, but why can't he get these numbers in the early primary states... apart from IA?

The Democratic base has either stuck with th obvious choice in Clinton or fell in love with Obama.  Simple as that.
