The age pyramid is inverted here from McCain vs. Obama; old people prefer Hagan, the young prefer Dole. Weird.

Nice to see the primary bump holding.

If these numbers hold for another week or two, I declare the race competitive.

Real good stuff. Three straight polls now that show this will be a very competitive race.

2004 exit poll said that Blacks made up 26% of the electorate in the state, but this poll only has it at 20%. Add in some increase due to Obama...

Good!  I now think Obama may be able to help Hagan over the threshold.  At the moment, my predictions are:

NORTH CAROLINA PRESIDENT -
52% (R) McCain
47% (D) Obama

NORTH CAROLINA SENATE -
49% (R) Dole
48% (D) Hagan

You guys need to seek some serious help. NC is full of rural DINOs that will not vote for Obama. Learn something about the state outside of the research triangle and Charlotte before you start predicting the state will be a swing state.

Predicting a 5-point win for McCain doesn't make it a swing state, it makes a Republican state that is closer than normal.
