Although I don't understand why athiests have to pile on the Catholic Church, who despite a shameful past are definitely the most tolerant and least objectionable mainstream denomination of Christianity today.

That said, I support free speech.  The guy seems like a douche though.

The guy probably loves the publicity his critics are giving him. The Catholic League fell into his trap.

I had one instructor who said that the Pope was a dictator. Another said that the US is prosperous because it is Protestant, and that Latin America is not prosperous because it is Catholic. These two instructors were both Baptists from the South, and that is why their statements, which were made in class, during lecture never made it to the media (unlike this guy's website that he made in his free time). This was at a public university, BTW.

HP because he's an attention whore.  He has the freedom to do what he wants, but the university has a right to not link to his blog.  The Catholic League can be pissed, but he's done nothing illegal.
