Chris Carney (D-Inc.) - 49%
Chris Hacket (R) - 45%
Undecided - 6%

McCain: 50%
Obama: 41%
Others: 5%
Undecided: 4%

750 registered voters were interviewed by SurveyUSA 08/23/08 through 08/25/08 using Registration Based Sample provided by Aristotle of Washington DC. Of the registered voters, 623 were identified by SurveyUSA as likely to vote in November.

The district was represented by a Republican for 46 years, until Republican Don Sherwood was defeated in 2006. Before Carney defeated Sherwood, the last Democrat to represent the district was elected during the Eisenhower administration.

Almost exactly 60/40 Bush.

And I thought Carney had only a more slight chance than Lampson.

Sample looks a bit too Democratic to me (much like the Musgrave one, a bit less), but we'll see.  It's kinda hard for a Republican to get less than 46%-47% out here, frankly.

polidata.com(/org?)

If I had to go with a gut "feel" right now, this poll sounds about right actually. I'd be really surprised if 41% of voters here are Democrats.

As am I.  Henceforth the above comments.  But who knows - it's still early.
