Doesn't Obama at least get an unrealistic neighboring state advantage, too?

You forgot Biden was born in Pennsylvania.

Ohio, New York, and West Virginia are all safe too.

However, since he didn't choose Dodd and McCain might choose Lieberman, Connecticut is in serious danger zone.

Omfg get some ads up in Hartford quick Obama before it's too late!

No. The neighboring state advantage has historically only applied to the Vice Presidential nominee.

LOL

Yes, of course.  Tongue

But seriously, I love the idiots that think Biden "locks up" PA. Sadly, Biden would likely win here very easily (assuming no major gaffe) if he was the Presidential nominee. He's the running mate. He's not going to make a big difference here.

Whose votes?  Obama's or Biden's?  Mitty, all senators must vote to oppress the poor - it is required of them by their masters.  A criticism that applies to all is hardly a criticism.

Kind of like the folks who thought Kennedy could help Obama in CA in the primaries, right?

Well, in Biden's defense he is an older, more Catholic VP and Pennsylvania is an older, more Catholic state.  So he might be an "ok" surrogate for local media and probably one of the better VP choices for Obama in this state.

I mean, we're talking tenths of a percent here though.

The theory of "neighbouring state advantage" is garbage. Biden is not some mythical being who will magically win all of those states for Obama. If the "neighbouring state advantage" consistently proved true, then everyone should pick running mates from Tennessee, Missouri, or Kentucky.

What would be the best ticket possible with that option turned on?  A president from TN and a VP from NY?

Maybe the VP should be from Nevada?

One has to consider that "countering" picks could be chosen, like if you choose Nevada they could choose California, or if you choose TN they could do KY.

I wonder what the most invincible pick would be (there's probably a couple) under those rules.

That would be interestingly game-breaking. Imagine a Democratic ticket with TN+WY, or a Republican ticket with OR+NY. Cheesy
