It's funny the stuff people will tolerate from a black candidate.

People wouldn't expect this sh*t from Collin Powell. The Uzbecki Uzbecki Stan Stan part is really the icing on the cake of how bad his campaign is.

The President of Uzbekistan's name is "Islam". That shouldn't be too hard to remember.

Herman Cain's passion for numerology has been well-documented. He devotes an entire chapter of his book to the number forty-five. It's a signal that he is "meant to win" or something.

It's also worth noting that yellow is his "power color."

I think a lot of people believe in magic numbers at least in a trivial sense.

In the trivial sense of writing a chapter in your book about it, yea.

It's not racist to point out that the American public holds blacks to a lower standard. If a white candidate, even a crazy like Bachmann made the Uzbeki-beki statement, everybody would be all over her. Cain is still polling well. Anybody think Steele would have been head of GOP (whatever his title was called) if not for his skin color? People just expect and apparantly are willing to tolerate a bit of nuttiness and ignorance from black candidates.

I don't mean to completely dismiss your point (or, for that matter, to endorse it), but Cain's exuberant personality and working class background also play an important role in this dynamic.

I'm trying to be subtle, but I can't think of anything.
