The people in Gitmo aren't going to tell us if they know anything without some incentive to do so.

If it requires making them a bit uncomfortable to provide that incentive, then so be it.

Some of the things that happened in the first couple years were a bit crude, certainly, but we are thirty years out of practice.

If you can find an example of actual torture from the last two years (heck, even from the last four years), I might be outraged.

      June 22, 2005--A Rasmussen Reports survey found that 20% of Americans believe prisoners at Guantanamo Bay have been treated unfairly. Seven-out-of-ten adults believe the prisoners are being treated "better than they deserve" (36%) or "about right" (34%).

The survey also found that just 14% agree with people who say that prisoner treatment at Guantanamo Bay is similar to Nazi tactics. Sixty-nine percent disagree with that comparison. This helps explain why Illinois Senator Dick Durbin apologized for making such a comparison.

Partisan differences concerning prisoner treatment are huge. Only 7% of Republicans believe Guantanamo prisoners are treated unfairly. Thirty percent (30%) of Democrats hold that view along with 22% of those not affiliated with either major party.

Forty-five percent (45%) of Republicans say the prisoners are treated better than they deserve. That view is shared by 28% of Democrats

My father was moved around in concentration camps from 1943-45. He was finally liberated from Dachau in 1945. Gitmo is a resort beach in Cuba with an overlook of the ocean. Ask an army ranger what he goes through during survival and resistant training. Then compare that those in Gitmo.

What amazes me is that some prisoners have been freed only to be captured again in their effort to kill our soldiers. I know opebo would applaud that because the soldiers are the instrument of the "Empire" and killing American soldiers is propper and just. Islamo-fascist are not just a new phenomenon that arrived during the invasion of Afghanistan and subsiquently Iraq. They've been trying to destroy and kill Israelis and Israel for the past 38 years. But, I guess killing Jews is ok as long as we don't offend muslims by holding the Koran without gloves.

Labor Day 2003 here in Austin got to 113 degrees with 95% humidity. My daughter had a soccer tournament that day, so we were outside all day. I can't believe the US government aloud it to get that hot! That's it, where is the ACLU?
