Remember back to 1994... I did not follow politics VERY closely then but I remember many of these people....

The man leading the new Republican Revolution with the Contract of America
The man giving Teddy Kennedy a run for his money
The crazy Congressman who was the Libertarian candidate in 88
The conservative Pennsyvlania Congressman running for US Senate

I guess you can go back years before any election and see what the candidates were doing but is it not amazing to think of the paths these people took to get here and now they are competing against each other in 2011/2012???

This is truly an AMAZING election and seeing these people interact... it is the most interesting campaign I have ever followed and part of it is becuase of how well I know the players

The first election I voted was 1964. In comparison to THIS, that was dull

It really is.

And I think we've finally proven the notion that in America, anyone can be president. Or at least the Republican nominee. Smiley

Meh, 2008 was way better. This one's only got one primary race, for instance.

This election is the least interesting since 1996.

Yeah, both 2008 and 2004 trump this one.  2000 didn't liven up until after New Hampshire Primary, though, though.

It sucks. Romney and Huntsman are the only decent candidates. Paul too, obviously.

I definitely enjoyed McCain's performance in the 08 primaries, but the 2000 primary tacticts against McCain disgusted me... even though I am a huge fan of George W, that instance was a dark day in American politics

You guys serious? This Republican primary is hilarious. A lot more interesting that 2000 and 2004 at least.

This campaign is reality show politics, tha tis why it is so interesting. The candidates seem smaller, in many ways more like you and me, and to see them fighting is like watching that Jersey hoochie mama get clocked

I honestly could not have said it better myself.

It isn't really so much like watching a train wreck any more. It's like watching a bar fight. And it's amazing.

George W Bush showed that any C student can become President. Provided that their father was President and their grandfather was Senator.

Wait... you seriously consider this campaign more interesting than '64 or '68? Christ, man.

1- I did not follow either campaign much. 64 didn't care much, voted the way my friends were voting. 68- was overseas

2- No previous race I have seen has been a roller coaster like this one. I also know many of these candidates well (not personally) so it is really like a realitys how.  The nonstop coverage on the web and on TV makes it even better... I love it!

This election is the least interesting since 1996.

I was about to say that comparing anything to the 1996 Presidential Election was cruel until I was realized that every election since then was at least half way decent.  So yeah, what Xahar said.

Depending on what happens over the next 11 months it could possibly be the greatest campaign in decades.  However, it also has the potential to be the most meaningless election since 1996 (Xahar (c)) if the electorate is very apathetic about the whole process.
