CNN, Anderson Cooper 360, Friday, February 10, 2012

James Carville:

There is no chance that Santorum or Gingrich are gonna be the nominee.

We all know that.

A bit later in the program

Santorum is not gonna be the nominee of anything.

Republican strategist Ralph Reed, also on the program, agreed.

James Carville can hardly be called a fan of Mitt Romney.

Just passing along more gems of wisdom from James Carville.  Like him or not, he is politically astute.

Oh, I know Mitt is almost certainly the nominee.  I'm just hoping Santorum could make it a fight.

What, Romney is now using the Ragin' Cajun to make his case as the inevitable nominee? I thought he already had Karl Rove, Ann Coulter, and Christine O'donnell?

I imagine he said the same thing about Obama.

That said, he's probably right this time, but his arrogant nature makes me want to slap the taste out of his mouth.

I think his arrogant nature is his appeal. I like it. It annoys me when Hannity acts that way.

I've never understood why people like Carville. He doesn't seem especially smart or anything.

Carville is overrated. Begala was the real brains of that operation, and it took Dick Morris to get Clinton re-elected.

True, but Dick still gets most of the credit for re-election. Without the blueprint he laid out in 1995, no way Clinton survives.

Because I read and remember what happened. Morris practically invented triangulation. He is certainly responsible for driving it through Clinton's skull that he had to swing hard right and propose laundry lists of absurd-yet-inoffensive policies (e.g., school uniforms). To get a real sense of what Clinton '96 was all about, not th revisionist history, watch Bulworth.

Anybody else starting to wonder if Politico actually is Dick Morris?  Think about it for a sec.

It would make a degree of sense. Certainly more than any alternative explanation.
