Pick a random rural red county in far western Kansas that has been declining for several decades and turn it blue for 2016..My pick would be Wichita County Kansas where Leoti is..( Not Wichita Kansas itself,) Obviously this would not impact the election but it would be a show that could start in 2013 about the process of turning a rural declining red county blue as it wakes them up how what they have done has not worked..

For example, one could show to them how agriculture subsidies are FROM the government and keep them barely afloat as is.. People could travel there from all walks of life from all over the world instead and show the world to many of these rural Kansans. You could show the initial struggles that many would have with different people of other races and genders and sexual preferences. but show how after exposure, more became more accepting and may start seeing the flaws in their way of voting straight ticket Republican constantly. You could also interview long term residents about where their children are and why they aren't in that small town. It be a fascinating study on a few thousand residents and challenge their thoughts and be great exposure for that county and town also.

You could show this to many rural communities experiencing the same decline and really probably reverse the whole trend of America getting redder, but more rural in these open areas, and possibly have America be more purple or blue and get more accomplished too. I think its obvious the current Republican party followers are slowly losing steam and will clearly be outnumbered but also have quite a bit of power. In order to move on in some direction and not have this gridlock and such polarization, you need to go to the middle of the conservative rural areas and spread from within and we will ALL move on..

Or maybe you could take the rose-tinted glasses of college liberalism off and stop prodding and poking these people in 'small towns' and recognize that perhaps....they know what's best for them.

they obviously do not... im from central kansas and have seen it decline and  tons of people leave (including myself) and truth be told, unless you inherit quite a bit of land and have lots of wealth in your family. You are not fit to succeed out that way.. I have read from newspapers how in Northwest Kansas, teachers are basically telling students by 9th grade, if you do not plan to work in farming or inherit land, to get out of that area.. That does not seem healthy to me. Look at the statistics too.. most these counties in Western Kansas vote 80% Republican..

they clearly don't if they're voting against their interests.

Blacks in the ghetto have a tough time succeeding and vote 90% Democrat. So what?

The poor areas in cities also generally in or right around huge cities that have huge amounts of business and city around. The closest these rural counties can get to a city with many chances are employment are Wichita, Kansas City or Denver.. If you want to create your own Republican viewpoint of this go ahead with it, but I dont picture old white men going into poor city areas or areas that support gay rights winning their viewpoints over.
