What if Seth MacFarlane ran for the Democratic nomination in 2016? How well would he do and how well would he do in the general election if nominated?

(Hey it's no dumber than other suggestions I've seen on this board.)

His base would be stoned leftist college students. He drops out a month after announcing.

Republicans would run a woman against him and win by a huge margin. Did you see the Oscars this year?

He's just barely old enough to run, at 39 years.

Also, he's an Atheist. Maybe in 20-30 years America will be ready, but it isn't now.

In all seriousness though, he's just as qualified as Ted Nugent or Donald Trump (if not more so), and he'd be a better president than either of those two.

Do you want the Republicans to nominate a Santorum-type and win?

I'm sure he's a Jewish Atheist (Yes, an "ethnic religion" like BRTD hates.), and we've been ready for a Jew since the 60's at minimum.

This is about what it would look like for Seth MacFarlane against candidates such as Rick Santorum, Haley Barbour, Ron Paul, or Pat Buchanan. Chris Christie and Marco Rubio would probably win Hawaii and New York. The only reason I'm giving Massachusetts to MacFarlane is because of his Rhode Island roots. You guys realize I'm being nice.

I agree that the nation has been ready for a Jewish President for quite some time, but one who's at least nominally practicing is a much, much easier pill for Middle America to swallow than an Atheist of any stripe.

I can see the ads right now including the scene where Jesus makes Lois's boobs bigger to show he can do anything.

Doubt it. I don't think you realize how many people would never vote for someone like Buchanan no matter who the Democratic nominee was (short of Hitler or something).

You know the point I was making. Every single Family Guy episode would be called into question. Pat Buchanan is very much a centrist like him or not.

More people watch Family Guy than voted for Rick Santorum in the primaries.
