https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bahrain

Small Island state. Once briefly a Portuguese colony it eventually became dominated in the Early Modern Period by Safavid Iran and so became a Shia majority state, one of only four in the world. Despite this the state is run by a narrow Sunni oligarchy who, with the great assistance of Saudi Arabia, crushed an uprising in the country inspired by its religious majority in 2011. Protests still continue at present albeit much wound down compared to before.

Below is a map of the Gulf region by percentage of inhabitants who are expats, Bahrain is 54% non-nationals which is comparatively low for the region

If i was forced to pick the best of the Gulf oligarchies, it would be Bahrain. Not that that's saying anything meaningful whatsoever.

Where are the calls for air strikes? A regime change? A no-fly zone enforced by NATO? Why is John Kerry being sent to sell weapons to the government? I thought Obama was a supporter of Arab Spring.

Seriously, this shtick is old and lame. Different countries are different.
