Taking down somebody big in a clean and unquestionable, yet impassioned way during a debate.

He's damaged goods.  Mass amnesia would have to set in.

Win New Hampshire?

A few candidates would have to implode or drop out for Christie to gain top tier status.

Christie is a belligerent blow-hard, that's usually enough for the GOP, but Trump has taken that audience away. He needs a different gimmick.

Although, if Trump implodes, his audience could be open again.

Nothing, Trump should have used his Pataki "he's a failed Governor who couldn't even be elected dog catcher now" line on Christie.

Do consistently well in debates.  An add dump in New Hampshire also wouldn't be remiss.

He just needs to continue to have strong debate performances as he has had so far and once Fiorina implodes thanks to her HP record, Trump has some kind of malfunction, and Ben Carson collapses, I think Christie is prime for another resurgence.

Several things would have to happen:

1.  The collective GOP primary electorate will have to come to the conclusion that the worst is over on Bridgegate, and the general consensus of it all being that Christie's own staffers failed him.

2.   Christie would have to be the one to take Donald Trump down.  Doing so would cause him to be indebted to the GOP Establishment, as well as SOME of the so-called insurgents.

3.   Enough time would have to lapse between #1 and #2 to winnow out some of the competition.
