He's the mayor of Sacramento, California. He'd be a good choice to appeal to African-American voters and some of the "Obama coalition" in 2020. He's the husband of education reformer Michelle Rhee. Would that be a big downside to a Democratic primary run?

Hahahaha

His political capital got wasted when he tried to make Sacramento a Strong Mayor city (as opposed to being ran by a city manager). While Sacramento does have a nice new stadium, he hasn't done anything to solve the homeless issue facing Sacramento. He was a figurehead who has been ushered out with a pie to his face.

Dude has plenty of haggard (accused of sexual assault) and he's only a mayor.

I like the guy, but I mean, my hometown mayor President in four years? Not happening.

Mayors in general are overrated as presidential candidates. Only two mayors have every gone on to become President (Grover Cleveland and Calvin Coolidge) and they both held other offices in between.
