Why do hipster Christians only care if a Republican isn't Christian?

So yeah I've kind of just noticed this recently. In 2012 my Facebook feed was full of stuff about how Mitt Romney wasn't a Christian and the false lies of Mormonism and how Paul Ryan was a follower and acolyte of the atheist Ayn Rand and not a follower of Jesus Christ like Obama and Biden were. And then last year about how Trump isn't a real Christian and Hillary Clinton actually is.

But these same people are all huge fans of Bernie Sanders and Keith Ellison. Some of the posts just made this kind of hit me recently.

I think it has to do with hypocrisy rather than just the fact that they aren’t Christians.

That's more like Alex Jones-style conspiracy theorist nutjobs, not hipster Christians. The two groups have about zero overlap.
