So Israel hacked Kaspersky and watched other people who allegedly hacked Kaspersky using their networks as a virtual "Google search" for NSA documents on tens of millions of PCs Kaspersky software is installed on.

I have a feeling that Kaspersky (Security Software) will soon lose tons of sales/revenue around the world, and will probably fold as a business.

Damn, that's like a House of Cards plot. Also, when someone asks if our alliance is only about the U.S. giving Israel money, here's another example they should look at Tongue

I suppose that's up to whether buyers are more worried about Russia or the US. Unless they think US intelligence hasn't done the same thing?

Every time the topic comes up (and we all know how much anit-Semites like to bring it up) I mention that we get a ton of intel from Israel.  Somehow this doesn't turn the bigots.

Israel is probably mad at Kaspersky for uncovering their Stuxnet worm.

First of all, it's a joint project. Second, what's the problem with it? It's a very legitimate way to attack an illegitimate, dangerous project of a nation that promised to wipe us from the map several times. And third- Israel doesn't do things out of impulse and emotions, but out of necessity.

There is no evidence that I have heard of, that any US-based security software companies have done the same. Companies here would absolutely not cooperate with US government officials to do something like this. In Russia, Russian corporate officials must do it, or else they suddenly fine themselves shot and killed on the street, late one night.

That's for data collection, not to inject spyware into these companies' programming, to gain government secrets from other countries.
So if you are an extremist or terrorist, then you should be concerned. Otherwise, don't worry about it.
Citizens of this nation and around the world, should be more fearful of what "Apple, Google, Facebook, and Microsoft" have, store and analyze about us, not the US government. But of course, we (everybody) enjoy the "Like" button, so we cant bash DramaBook. Because without DramaBook (Facebook) we would all suffocate and die.

PS: If these companies didn't store all this info about us, for marketing (to rob us of our money), then there would be nothing there for government(s) to be interested in, or want access to.

This was one aspect of the Kaspersky scandal that had me wondering. Data storage and bandwidth is cheap, but perhaps not so cheap that Kaspersky could afford to upload most of the data from their customers hard drives to their own servers. Keywords and other markers in files must have been looked for, and to just "accidentally" hoover up so many classified NSA documents can hardly be seen as a mistake. It had to have been searching for it, and Kaspersky would have known what its antivirus products were searching for.

That is why I almost always try and select the most interesting and informative quotes from the article. I even translate links from the article into bbcode for the quotes Tongue
