I think the deciding factor in CA-45 is who all the new residents of Irvine vote for. There has been at least 50K in population growth there since 2010 alone, and it wouldn't surprise me if these people were D leaning.
I can almost assure you most of these people are asians and middle easterners which is good news for democrats because those two groups hate trump.

Newport Beach which is filled with wealthy white conservative bigots,
Really? It always struggled me as a Romney-Trump not NoVa type of place.
You've odviously never been to Newport Beach, as someone who lives one city over in Irvine, I go to Newport Beach almost every day and if you drive through its wealthy suburban neighborhoods you will see many trump signs on the lawns and in the windows, I've evan seen an Old, beet up, truck, parked in one of these neighborhoods covered in Pro-trump and Pro-republican stickers on its windows, and I've seen an Old white person walking around a shopping center their with one of those stupid red hats. You contrast this with Irvine where most of political stickers you see are for Clinton and Sanders and it's quite odvious that Newport Beach leans heavily republican while Irvine leans heavily democratic.

Okay sorry. In my experiences in the Corona Del Mar/Balboa Island/Balboa Peninsula area, I've had the opposite impression, but I expect you know OC better than I do.
