I think Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) will win reelection in 2018 midterm elections. Gov. Rick Scott will not run in my opinion.

Therefore, would Florida Sen. Bill Nelson be a good vice presidential running mate for a Democratic nominee in 2020?

He's:
-Elder statesman
-From crucial swing state (Florida)
-Southern White Democrat
-Moderate Democrat

Would Nelson deliver FL for the Democrats in 2020, and help elsewhere, or would he be a downside due to his age (will turn 78 in 2020)?

He's really old so someone like Northam or Brown or someone else would be better

He's just so boring and a black hole of charisma. I don't understand why anyone would pick him for VP.

Nelson is safe and steady. He won't embarrass you but he won't excite you.

A vice president who is serious, ready to be President on Day One.

He could appeal to working class whites in the South and Midwest.

Basically Tim Kaine, which didn't work out too well.

He'd be 78 on Election Day 2020. I want Biden to be the nominee, so in that case having two old white men be the ticket for the Democrats wouldn't happen. I don't think he'd bring much to the table - he'd kinda be like Tim Kaine. The only thing he may do is improve your odds of winning Florida if he wins reelection this November.

Nope, 78 is just too old.

If it's a moderate/ moderate ticket you're begging for a Trump re-election.
