My fellow Atlasians, today I come before you as the choice of the people to lead this great nation and this great game towards a better future. Back during the debate, I was asked why I thought that I believed myself to be the best person to lead this country, to which I stated that it was presumptuous to attest such and that only the people have authority to so decide who best to lead them. The PeopleTM have spoken and I stand ready, willing and able to carry that great honor from the Atlasian people.

We face many challenges. As a game we face the prospect of growing disinterest and a growing lack of faith that the game is for them. As a country, we face a foreign conflict that poses great risks to the security of the globe and calls to question the most sacrosanct of principles, the universal right to self determination. We face a deficit crisis that threatens both our national security and our economic security. We face economic challenges and the need to ensure that we have a vibrant and dynamic economy to uplift our people and ensure domestic tranquility. We also face a renewed interest in sectional strife. However, if we remain principled and yet cooperative, respectful and yet passionate, and creative and yet mindful of tradition there is nothing that is beyond our grasp, no goal to high to reach and nothing too ambitious for us to achieve.

As President, I am committed to a game that is open and welcoming to every player. We must not let factionalism and cliques destroy the fabric, trust and faith in this game. Instead we must be honest with ourselves and to each other, open to outside input and feedback and ready to challenge and stand righteously for the truth and for fact based approaches. We must get our wiki up to date, improve the way new players are immersed into the game, and make the pronouncements of a Wrathful and Angry GodTM, more central to the focus and operation of the game. We must be open and willing to consider more profound changes as long as they comport with our democratic principles and liberal (of the classical variety like the Bill of Rights) values and preserve the institutions that safeguard them.

As President, in the coming hours I plan to revive the recently stalled War Powers Amendment to ensure that, with the lingering problems still before us, that a permanent remedy to the administrative break down that occurred last September, doesn't happen again. I also plan to revive a push for Pardon Reform, because if we might disagree on the process of pardons, we can at least agree that no President is above the law and no President should be able to pardon themselves. Once these are accomplished, I plan to open a dialogue with the members of Congress about reforming the Vice Presidency and hopefully moving to towards a separately elected office. In pursuing these objectives I will remember always that no reform is owed support just because and that I will work to convince people of the importance and merits of these proposals. To ensure a better interaction with Congress I will be utilizing the Semi-Parliamentary nature of our cabinet to push for administration proposals via the cabinet members who also serve in the Congress. I will also restore the practice of holding regular Question Time Periods, every Tuesday evening, where members of Congress can ask questions of me and the cabinet members. I would also like to start doing a weekly press conference again with questioning open directly to the people.

Make no mistake, I am committed to ending the conflict in the East. Equally, I am committed to the obtainment of sovereignty and self determination for the Korean people, free of foreign interference. I am willing and able to pursue peace negotiations along these lines, and yes, our allies must have a seat at the table.

We desire no conflict, nor disruption of peace and tranquility. We desire only the mutual respect, cooperation and uplifting of human dignity and respect that a peaceful and harmonious globe can offer. When necessary, we must stand firm in the defense of our lives, our liberty, our sovereignty and that of our allies, whom we cherish as our closest friends. As an option of absolute last resort, we will fight to preserve these values and principles, and this must not be a hollow statement.

We must strengthen our defense capabilities, but be mindful of waste and ever concerned about the biggest threat facing our economy and national security, the deficit. We must seek reform but remain mindful of human suffering and difficulty. We must pursue efficiency that will strengthen and improve existing programs be it technology, or better organizational practices. We must continue to pursue reforms in various aspects of health care delivery and we must help our brothers in the North to finally pass a regional health care law and thus bring to full implementation the the Healthcare law passed last year. We must promote and encourage small business and new business to create new energy and vitality that will increase revenues to the government. We must be careful and selective with our tax code. I am all for a simpler code, with a less intrusive agency in charge of enforcement, but I am not for ballooning the deficit. It is my objective to have a budget proposal before Congress by August 1st of this year, so that we may comply with the deadline of October 1st set in the Budge Process and Control Act.

I am all for engagement and using resources within my administration to support and assist the Regions in addressing issue such as Healthcare and Education. I plan to hold regular meetings with the Governors to discuss Federal statutes and what options the regions have to take full advantage of them. I also encourage the Governors and regional legislators to work and communicate closely with their Senators, turning them into their advocates at the Federal level. I would like nothing more than to see more power and responsibility devolved closer to people, and thus placed in the capable hands of the regions and their governments. However I remain steadfast in my firm belief in our Federal Republic and the strength that comes from our unity and therefore I am steadfastly opposed to secession or sectionalism in any form. To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, you have no oaths sworn in heaven to break asunder this mighty union, but I shall have the most solemn one, to preserve, to protect and to defend it.

Thanks and so help us Dave!
