Hello, Lincolnites and other Atlasians! This is a town hall event intended to bring the population up to date with the Assembly's work so far this session, the bills we've passed, the issues we've tackled, the challenges we've faced, what our priorities are, and to answer any questions or comments put forward by citizens.
Both wxtransit and I came to the Assembly in the middle of an activity crisis in early December, right after we had recalled the totality of the first 14th Assembly. We were joined by Assemblyman JaydonBrooks after the December midterms. I am pleased to be able to say that in that time, we have gotten the Assembly working again. We have tackled issues important to the people of Lincoln, we've made strides in education, criminal reform, the influence of money in politics, our children's health, and the condition of our farmers, among other things. We've passed these reforms with broad support, amending, discussing, and conversing to build a Lincoln better for everyone. We've done a lot of work in clarifying and streamlining Lincoln's laws and codes. The Assembly held the standard of activity high, being the beacon of discussion and activity inside the region, and holding officers accountable in their execution of the position.
There are, however, many challenges still to be faced. We're currently debating a bill intended to promote our regional parties, and to end discrimination in criminal defenses. There are bills in the queue intended to help protect Lincoln's animals and make hunting better for individuals and animals inside of Lincoln. There is still an activity problem in the region.
We are confident, however, that we can continue making our region better and building Lincoln's future.
My fellow Assemblyman will probably make some starting comments of his own after this first intervention.
I strongly urge every Atlasian citizen (from Lincoln and outside) to ask any question during this town hall, mention an issue they want addressed in the Assembly, or make any comment. You may post a question in this thread or, if you so prefer, addressing me through PM.
Thank you.
