I've tried to find candidates pretty representative of the populist, liberal, conservative and libertarian wings of the Democratic and Republican parties

Each Forum member has up to TWO votes in this Open [Joint] Primary and you can vote for any two candidate of your choosing (i.e. both Democrats, both Republicans, one from each or just one from either)

The top two candidates from each party will then form that party's ticket in the Forum Match-up Presidential Election

Voting will close at 16.00 (GMT) on Thursday 17/11/2005

Thanks,

Dave

For the record, Super is supposed to be a Republican.

Democrats

I, hereby, declare that Nym90 with 14 votes is the Democratic Party's presidential nominee; however, the vice-presidential nomination is tied between Frodo and Casey Reece with 8 votes each

I, therefore, propose that there will be a run-off between Frodo and Casey Reece for the vice-presidential nomination

Republicans

I, hereby, declare that Supersoulty and bullmoose88 are in joint first place with 9 votes each - allowing for Speed of Sound's voting error - for the Republican Party's presidential nomination

I, therefore, propose that there will be a run-off between Supersoulty and bullmoose 88 for the Republican Party presidential nomination with the winner becoming the presidential nominee and the runner-up the vice presidential nominee

I wasn't around back then. Have Nym90 and Supersoulty faced-off before?

That was the first Fantasy election ever.  Nym won with one more vote than Super.  I might be wrong, but I think bullmoose was the crucial swing vote in that election.
