9. Yes (important). People from abroad who don't work, should not be a drain on our welfare system.
10. No (unimportant). There is no European people. MEPs represent the nation states and are supposed to work in the interest of these nation states.
11. No (important). We need to do away with our endless altruism and focus on ourselves. Besides, development aid has been an ineffective disaster for everyone involved.
12. No (unimportant). Not an issue in which the EU should be involved. Let member states decide.

What would be the point of casting a vote for a party that isn't even running a candidate where you live?  Or am I misunderstanding?

According to this idea, people would be able to vote for parties/candidates across the continent, not just for parties/candidates in their own country.

Okay then I think I agree with your position on that.

9: No (unimportant). While I do agree with the fact that non-EU inmigrants should receive very limited benefits, with EU inmigrants it gets harder to say. After all, any EU inmigrant would be automatically a permanent resident with the right to work and live anywhere in the EU. So I lean towards no, but I'm very conflicted on the issue. Maybe require some sort of waiting period where they aren't eligible for benefits inmediately instead

10: Yes (unimportant). This would be a huge step towards making EU elections matter. However a much better fix would be to instead replace the national parties with EU parties. So instead of voting say, SPD, PD or PSOE you would be voting S&D; or instead of CDU, PSD or CDA you would vote EPP

11: No (unimportant). Development aid is generally not spent well, though it is still a useful foreign policy tool

12: No (important). There are lots of privacy concerns with that in my opinion

I agree with that- in the current state, EU elections are just weird. If we want an all-European organization, its parliament and decision-making shouldn't be made by national parties, but rather by European parties that have people from across the continent cooperating. It shouldn't mean the banning of national parties or something, though- I guess they'd be like separatist parties inside some nations, that win some seats as anti-EU forces while the multinational parties like S&D or ALDE would win most seats.
