There's a certain strip club here that I went to once and won't go to again because of this. At the door there's a sign stating that all non-employee females coming in must be accompanied by a male.

Not only do I fail to see the point in that policy, it's disgustingly discrimantory. Couldn't a lesbian sue that it discriminates against homosexual females?

Possibly intended to stop prostitutes from coming in and trolling for clients.  (Or maybe just to ensure that the owner gets his cut.)  Certainly that or some other reasons could exist to justify the ban.

I've never once seen that happen at a strip club. The only prostitutes you'll find in a strip club are some of the strippers using that as a front job.

Kind of funny you mention that though about a club which is under FBI investigation for possibly laundering money for Hmong organized crime groups.

In which case the club owner might be paranoid about any number of things.

Now if it had said "non-employee females must be accompanied", I'd have no problems with it. But the fact that "by a male" was added to the end of it opens it up to lawsuit based on sexism or orientation. Plus, what if there's a dude with more than one chick? Will he be let in? The sign sounds too vague on that issue. Does it mean that every female must be accompanied by a female, or that there must at least be one dude in a group that also has females in it?

And I would just like to put this question out there: WHY THE HELL WOULD A STRIP CLUB WANT TO TURN LESBIANS AWAY?

Several things....
A.maybe they've had issues in the past with unaccompanied women?  Them getting hurt/raped, them taking men out of the bar, them starting sh**t with husbands/boyfriends.
II.It's a private club, they can let in whoever the hell they want and keep out whoever the hell they want...right?  It's not like this is the only grocery store for 100 miles or something.

I'd suggest giving them a call and asking what the deal is...if they give you a stupid reason, find a single women and a lawyer and go fight for the freedom for women to go to this specific strip club unaccompanied.

I. I'm sure strippers have caused WAY more of such problems than female customers.
II. What would happen if a private club tried to deny entry to blacks?

If I were a lesbian and cared enough, I might do the last bit.
