Not buying that Liz and Bernie are actually struggling, but let's be honest: Joe Biden is the best fit for this state. He could win by ten points, easily. NoVa moderate suburbanites are fed up with Trump and want Uncle Joe.

Biden is definitely the best fit for Virginia, out of those three candidates. If Amy Klobuchar were a viable contender, she would be an excellent fit for them as well. Buttigieg is another candidate who would do well here. But regardless of who the Democrats nominate, Virginia will not vote for Trump. Trump will lose the state by more than he did in 2016. He might do better in the Appalachian regions, but he will lose decisively in Northern Virginia, Richmond and its suburbs, Hampton Roads, Charlottesville/Albemarle County, and Virginia Beach.

Interesting that this does show a meaningful socialist penalty.

Yep , Trump will be competitive in NoVa vs. Liz.

Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia are awful fits for Warren as well.

I'm sure all those NoVA suburbanites that voted for Lee Carter are dying to vote for Trump.

First I thought he said VA (bad enough) but then I noticed he really meant Northern Virginia... holy fck.

Even the wildest straw men wouldn’t be this ludicrous.

Is this nationwide or just Virginia?

Former isn't unreasonable, but no effing way for the later.

indyrep is right. impeachment backfired folks. Up here in NoVA, I saw a parade of white women marching down the street to the tune of Les Miserables singing:
♫ "Do you hear suburban moms ♫
Singing against impeachment
It is the music of a people
who won't vote for Dems again!
When talking about Ukraine
contrasts with kitchen table issues,
there is a life about to start
when November comes!
Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Beyond kid's soccer games
is there a ballot you long to see?
Then join in the fight
that will give you the right
♫ to vote against Bernie!" ♫

VA safe r.
Comstock will rise again!

Just wait until her vaunted opposition research reveals Elizabeth Warren is a pedophile. October Surprise!

That's true. VA is relatively a bad fit for Bernie and Warren but it doesn't matter all too much.

Bernie isn't gonna to be the nominee. It appears Warren has peaked already, we will see what the next batch of polls tell us.

I'm sure all those NoVA suburbanites that voted for Lee Carter are dying to vote for Trump.

Lee Carter's margin went down to 6 points this last election, and that was despite being an incumbent. Northam won the district by 16.5 and won statewide by 9 which is a 7.5% discrepancy. So we might need to reassess here.

This poll seems pretty consistent with the results in the VA house and senate elections that just occurred.

True, but the state GOP party here is much more popular than Trump, who is a uniquely bad fit for this ultra-educated state. Trump isn't winning SD-12 like Dunnavent just did, and if races like Cole/Milde are any indicator, NOVA's voting habits are extending farther south as the I-95 becomes more developed.
