McCain has (barely) passed Giuliani for second place in NH in pollster.com's trendlines:

He seems to be edging out Giuliani in most of the recent polls there.  Romney's lead is still huge in most polls.

And people thought Fred Dalton Thompson was the 'Real Deal' and not to mention the 'New Reagan'. Oh Please. I reckon Romney will still win New Hampshire but I'd be looking out for Tax Hike Mike to make a serious bid to finish a close second or possibly first, if he manages to win Iowa.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, Tancredo is at 3% in this poll, which actually puts him ahead of Thompson.  That means that Thompson is in 7th place.  At least he's ahead of Hunter.

According to the RCP average, McCain is starting to close the gap with Romney, but he's still a ways back.  A week ago Romney's average was 33.8 and McCain's was 15.6.  Now, Romney is at 30.3 and McCain is at 18.0, a change of 5.9% in the lead.

McCain really needs to campaign in NH almost like he's running for statewide office there.

That's what he's been doing for months on end. He's barely even left New Hampshire for debates. And, as a result, he's doing only marginally better than treading water. McCain's campaign is doomed.

NH is Romney's firewall, obviously not Clinton's as MSM likes to report it as.

Contrary to what I expected, Romney appears to have been doing better in NH in the past month--despite McCain's improvement, it's looking more and more like McCain's chances (in NH, therefore nationwide) are over and this is nearly in the bag for Romney, barring a complete meltdown in Iowa.
