In general election matchups, Obama leads McCain by 51-44 percent, similar to the last two ABC News/Washington Post polls. Standings in a Clinton vs. McCain race are 49-46 percent, again roughly similar to previous ABC News/Washington Post results.

I note that national polls and state polls don't match up well. Summing the Obama-McCain state polls gets you to an approximately tied national vote.

I'm waiting for a really unbiased poll like Newsweek or CBS/NYT.   LOL

What? Are you suggesting they cooked the numbers or something?

And since when did the Washington Post and ABC become strongly partisan Democrats? Is everyone that isn't Fox News now part of the 'liberal media'?

Are you serious?  The Washington Post isn't partisan?  I suppose in your eyes the gang on MSNBC - Olbermann and Chris tingle up my leg Mathews constitutes down the middle journalism.

BTW, FOX news employs Opinion Dynamics to do their polls.  Their numbers skew left consistantly.  They had Kerry winning in 2004 by 2 points.

Junk poll. It's about as useful as the CBS/NYT polls. And enough with the Fox bashing. Opinion Dynamics has been rated one of the best pollsters time and time again.

Fox News = right wing bias.

MSNBC, CNN,  NYT, CBS, etc  = down the middle responsible journalists.  I get a tingle down my leg everything I think of it.

I just have to change the way I think about things on this forum. I'm such a mindless hack that I'll never truly see the correct way. The NY Times is the pinnacle of unbias reporting. In fact, they are right wing slanted!

NY Times has infinitely more journalistic integrity than Faux News ever had.

Which doesn't really have much to do with their polling history or abilities...

The NYT has journalistic integrity?  Who told you that?  Jason Blair?

BTW, this is a poll of adults.  That's right.  Not likely voters and not even registered voters.  Adults.

Pure 100% junk.

The poll is junk.

And yes, the New York Times can be considered progressive, FOX can be seen as conservative.

Doesn't mean there is a liberal or conservative media in general. These whole accusations are incredibly convenient: Blame the media if you can't come up with anything better. Regardless of which side it is.

Gallup showing Obama ahead is worth looking at.  It is a reputable poll of registered voters.

A major network comes up with a poll of all adults in an election year?

Complete BS in an attempt to get a desired headline.  Well, they got that but that flies in the face of journalistic integrity.  Ask Vorlein or anyone connected with polling which party a poll of adults only will favor.

I think ABC came out with another poll saying some 40% of Americans are concerned about McCain's age compared to 17% who are concerned about Obama's race and so on and so forth.

I think its all bs anyways...and Obama definately is not leading McCain by 7pts.
