My guess is that Dukakis would win about 400 EVs.

I'd like to see what a map for that would look like...

In 1988:

today Dukakis would've won Virginia and NC. Robertson might've taken Montana and SD.

sorry but that’s baloney Reaganfan... we're talking about Pat F****** Robertson here... like Chirac vs the far far Rights Le Pen in 2002 in France... despite not much confidence in or enthusiasm for Dukakis, he wins in a landslide and the uber extremist Robertson is lucky to break 30%...

Robertson would not win, but he would win a lot more states than in Fascist-killer's map.  For example, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, South Dakota, Montana, Georgia, Arkansas, and remembering we're talking 1988, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico.

Michael Dukakis/Lloyd Bentsen: 301

Pat Robertson/Jack Kemp: 237

Jack Kemp helps Robertson immensly, but can't give him victory.

yes we're talking about 1988, and back then Montana and SD were much closer. Go look at the map. Dukakis did better in both than he did in NJ. NM was also pretty close even then, and while Nevada and Arizona went for Bush I heavily, they had a more libertarian nature and would NOT go for Robertson.

As for Brunsel's map, there is no way Pat Robertson could ever win in NH. Not even in 1988.

Well, I never throw away my vote, but here's a write in for George H. W. Bush.

It's probably not likely that Robertson could have accomplished a whole lot. And I'll bet when it came to picking Supreme Court justices, he'd be working on 4 or 5 before he got one confirmed.

Never ever would I vote for Robertson. Dukakis was actually a decent, intelligent, mainstream liberal guy. Unfortunately, he let the conservatives define him.
