I can do that...now, but I couldn't when I first joined the forum, then I could only name 35 or something...I like learning stuff like that. Smiley

Can anyone name the 18 crewmen who followed Captain Bligh into the launch after the mutiny of the Bounty? Didn't think so.... Wink

(Now THAT'S what I call useless information...)

No problem naming them all, with dates and parties too.  Of course I should be able to.  I was a history major and am an incurable political junkie.

I could name all the presidents when I was 6!!! I'm not sure if I still could. I sometimes get Buchannan and Filmore mixed up, and I struggle over the presidents of the late 1800s.

The way I can remember is I have pretty strong opinions on each one. Well except for the ones that passed early in there terms I remember them because... For example when I think of William H. Harrison I think of Tyler. When I think of Garfield I think of Arthor. When I think of Harding I think of Coolidge....

sure, with VPs too (though I might have to stop to think for a second somewhere down the line). Year of birth, year of death, home state, state of birth...okay, that one for VPs will include some where I'm not entirely sure anymore...defeated major party candidates, with home states...that too may have a few gaps...defeated running mates is way too hard though...

There's a saying that no Americans remember losing VP candidates...

I remember my dad told me once that when he was working with a group of inernational economists, he said that and the American of the group was deeply offended, stating that there were lots of educated peolpe who did (he was an economist)...after which my dad asked him to name the most recent one - Nixon's running mate of 1960...which caused the guy to leave the discussion and hid lunch and sit in a corner for half an hour before shouting 'Cabot Lodge' all in a sudden, startling everyone...
