Why is he on this list? He's not important at all.

I have some symbols on the list: they aren't important in themselves, they're influential by their image or by one or two acts.
Aidid is a symbol of those warlords, common now in Africa. And he is a symbol of the US at the end of the 20th century: no more military intervention, zero dead, etc.
